高珍妮女士在通用汽车的职业生涯始于1998年。 当时,她服务土星(Saturn)品牌,担任底盘和传动系统前瞻制造工程师。 一年后,高珍妮女士接受海外派遣,转入欧宝(Opel) ITDC的底盘及传动系统产品开发团队。此后几年,高珍妮女士陆续在土星(Saturn)品牌,欧宝(Opel)品牌及通用汽车的多个制造、生产及工程岗位担任要职,并于此后升任Spark纯电动车产品线总监。

过去十年间, 高珍妮女士相继执掌通用汽车电气化战略下的多个工程项目,包括出任通用汽车韩国公司雪佛兰Bolt 纯电动车首席工程师以及泛亚汽车技术中心中国电气化总工程师。在就任中国电气化总工程师之前,高珍妮女士担任通用汽车全球配件业务总监,负责通用汽车售后市场配件发展业务的工程及项目管理。

高珍妮女士拥有马凯特大学(Marquette University)机械工程学士学位,并获得普渡大学(Purdue University)工程硕士学位。她同时还是一名非常积极的公司内部导师,在中国,韩国和美国都有导生。高珍妮女士是SAE International (国际自动机工程师学会,原美国汽车工程师学会),SAE Detroit Section (SAE底特律分部) 和SAE Foundation (SAE基金会) 的活跃成员,她已加入上述组织超过20年。 作为SAE A World In Motion (SAE运动中的世界) 的志愿者,她会与当地小学生分享她对STEM (科学,技术,工程,数学) 学科的热爱。

高珍妮女士和她的丈夫Jeff还有女儿Katheleen Claire (KC) 一起居住在上海,Jeff曾就职于通用汽车,现已退休。 高珍妮女士热爱旅行,已行至50多个国家。闲暇时,她会打高尔夫球和水肺潜水。她有超过200次登记在册的潜水记录,并且是潜水教练专业协会认证的救援潜水员。

Jennifer Goforth was appointed chief engineer of Next Generation Electric Vehicles in November 2018 by General Motors. In this role, she is responsible for electrified vehicles developed for the Chinese market.

She began her GM career in 1998 at the Saturn division as an advanced manufacturing engineer for chassis and powertrain. A year later, Jennifer accepted her first international assignment at Opel ITDC on the chassis and powertrain product development team. After rotating through several manufacturing, production and engineering positions of increasing responsibility at Saturn, Opel and GM, she was promoted to vehicle line director for the Spark EV.

Over the past 10 years, Jennifer has held multiple engineering assignments supporting GM's electrification strategy, including chief engineer for the Chevrolet Bolt EV at GM Korea and chief engineer for China Electrification at PATAC. Prior to taking on her assignment in China, Jennifer was director of Global Accessories, where she oversaw engineering and program management for the development of GM's aftermarket accessories.

Jennifer has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Marquette University and a master's degree in engineering from Purdue University. She is an active mentor, with mentees in China, Korea and the USA. Jennifer is an active member of the SAE International, the SAE Detroit Section and the SAE Foundation for more than 20 years. She shares her love of STEM with local elementary school students as an SAE A World In Motion volunteer.

Jennifer resides in Shanghai with her husband, Jeff, a GM retiree and their daughter, Kathleen Claire ("KC"). She enjoys traveling and has visited more than 50 countries. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys golfing and scuba diving. She has logged more than 200 dives and is a PADI-certified Rescue Diver.

I believe an important way to achieve gender equality in STEM fields is by being a visible female STEM leader – by showing young girls there are female engineers and by mentoring young female professionals.
